Jemia Young is a strategist, speaker, creative writer and Inclusion & Diversity Program Manager at TEKsystems, the largest IT Services & Talent Management company in North America. She leads the organizations diversity brand and talent strategy. With emphasis on inclusion and retention, Jemia partners with employee resource groups and networks to ensure that leadership is cognizant of our strategies, how to implement and put into action.
Jemia is the creator and leader of ONYX, a Black Women’s employee network, which is a virtual community that connects our internal Black women together to provide professional development opportunities and contributes to the recruitment & retention of this demographic. Creating this network has been a pivotal moment for her career at TEKsystems as she saw a need to increase the engagement of Black women nationally.
She also facilitates inclusion workshops, partners with employee resource groups and ensures that leadership is cognizant of our diverse workforce and branding strategies, how to implement and put into action. Not only does Jemia facilitate internally, but she has also been a speaker at national conferences such as National Sales Network and National Urban League.
With her experience in career development, diversity and inclusion and branding, Jemia has the opportunity to write for online publications such as Fairygodboss, FindSpark, The Mogul Millennial and the TEKsystems TEKsavvy Blog.
Jemia is a certified Diversity & Inclusion Practitioner from Georgetown University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication from East Carolina University and Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
Jemia is based out of Northern Virginia.
